Who would have predicted two years ago that a couple in their 60’s would trade a comfortable land based life for the uncertainty and challenge of permanently living aboard a boat? Certainly not us!
But first we would travel to France to pick up our new catamaran, Sea Goddess, and spend a tad over five months sailing her back home to Australia. Our journey began in Les Sables-d’Olonne (France), then onto A Coruna (Spain), Santa Cruz (Canary Islands), Mindelo (Cape Verde), La Marin (Martinique), Colon and Panama City (Panama), Santa Cruz (Galapagos), Papeete (Tahiti), Rarotonga (Cook Islands), Noumea (New Caledonia) and finally Brisbane Australia. In total around 14,500 nautical miles traversing the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Pacific Ocean and Coral Sea. A huge achievement and an amazing adventure.
