We approached Albany via the Middle Channel between Breaksea and Michaelmas Islands then passing Albany’s dedicated cargo ship anchorage area and commercial wharf before reaching the marina. The breakwater is a bit of a dog leg, and once through finding the berth can be challenging as there is no signage, Peter just went off his memory of the emailed map. Boats here are a mix of pleasure, tourist and fishing trawlers.
Staffing: There are no onsite staff at the marina, all communication is via phone or email. Docking assistance is not available at this marina, though the boatie in the next berth to us came out and gave us a hand.
Security: There are no dedicated onsite security staff. Access to the marina is via a solitary gate which is activated by a fob. (Fob can be collected from a prearranged key lock near the gate. We were provided with the code on confirmation of our booking)
Parking: There is no designated marina parking area in place; and what parking is available is unsecured.
Amenities: A modern shower/toilet (unisex), and laundry block for marina berth holders is located directly opposite the marina gate. The washer and separate clothes dryer is coin operated ($3.00 each per cycle). Access to these amenities is via fob. Cleanliness of the showers is ‘iffy’, the same clump of black hair in the corner of the shower cubicle never moved while we were there.

Wifi: Free wifi is not available at this marina.
Noise: We didn’t experience any noise issues while at this marina.
Hard stand, oil and waste disposal and haul out facilities are not available at this marina.
Shops/Chandlery: An IGA supermarket, Dan Murphy’s, café, and pub serving meals is within walking distance. A pedestrian bridge provides access to the main street of the town with shops, restaurants, Information Centre lining both sides of the street. Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Officeworks, Bunnings and the like are much further out. A chandlery is located across the road from the marina.
