Introducing the star of the show our Lagoon 42 catamaran Sea Goddess.
When we first saw the Lagoon 42 owner’s version at the Sydney Boat Show in August 2018, it was love at first sight. She was moored stern to pontoon, we both stopped, stared and almost simultaneously said Wow!
Firstly we couldn’t believe it was a 42’ catamaran …. the width was huge, with a single level cockpit and saloon being a strong and attractive design feature. The galley area, critical for living aboard, provided all the essentials with excellent preparation space. Down below and a real positive for us, was so much light delivered by generous hatches, portlights, and windows positioned behind the aft cabin beds. We envisage that most of our time will be spent in the saloon, the cockpit, helm or forward deck area so cabin size was not a priority consideration for us, but they were more than adequate in size.
Sea Goddess is a three cabin owner’s version (3 cabins and 3 heads), blue water sailing vessel – just the right size for us and a few friends. Let’s check out some details.

Future Plans
Going forward we plan to add a dual drawer freezer unit, solar panels, spinnaker halyard and insect/shade screens. Upgrade current batteries to lithium batteries and install solar hot water heating. No doubt we will continue to add to this list.
As to what gets priority and time frames for these improvements, this will be determined as we settle into sailing and living aboard Sea Goddess, we’ll keep you up to date via the ‘Sailing Gear’ section of the website.
Upgrades
We have purchased and installed one item on our wish list already, a Vitrifrigo dual freezer unit in the cockpit.
