Location: Busselton, Western Australia
Duration: 1 month
Cost: $61.70* per night for a catamaran berth inclusive of electricity and water.

After passing the Busselton Jetty to starboard, the approach to the marina breakwater is clearly marked. Once entered it should be noted that the channel to the marina is narrow, even more so for us with a dredger in situ. Finding our berth was tricky since there was no signage on pylons to delineate docks or guide our way. We ended up docking in a berth, then Peter walked to the office to get ‘directions’ from marina staff for our allocated berth. Honestly, this is not the first time we have struggled finding our berth. They email a map and expect you to either have an accurate memory of the marina layout or print it and refer to it like an old style Gregory’s Street Directory as you are steering your boat through an unfamiliar marina. It’s not hard, just put up some signs!!
Staffing: Office and maintenance staff are available onsite Monday – Friday during business hours, an emergency number is available for contact on weekends and public holidays. Marina staff are helpful, assisting not just with marina queries but also the township, transport and the like. Docking assistance is not available at this marina, though a couple of guys came and gave us a hand.
Security: There are no dedicated onsite security staff. Access to the marina is via a solitary gate which is activated by a swipe card. (Cards can be collected from the marina office or via other arrangement).
Parking: There is no designated marina parking area in place; and what parking is available is unsecured.
Amenities: Separate and maintained male and female shower/toilet and laundry blocks for marina berth holders are located either next to or behind the marina office. The washer and separate clothes dryer in the laundry is coin operated ($3.00 each per cycle). The laundry also has novels, CDs and DVDs available for loan.

An IGA supermarket is about an hours walk from the marina. All remaining shops and services are located in Busselton town centre. Access to town is via foot then bus (you will need cash or SmartRider card for fare purchase), or taxi ($20 – 28 depending on the route).
Overall we rated this marina 8/10.
