Two Rocks Marina

Location: Two Rocks, Western Australia

Duration: 2 weeks

Cost: $1220.00* total

Western Australia

Heading north along the coast the approach to the marina breakwater is easy to spot, and once entered it should be noted that the channel is narrow. Hard stand with travel lift, fuel dock, (requires a Bailey’s Fuel card, which we obtained), and berths are to port, we were looking for P dock. This is not a big marina, and they did have signage at the end of the dock unfortunately the signage faced the wrong way!! Docking assistance is not available at this marina, though a couple of people came and gave us a hand. NB Pens are tight particularly for catamarans, no room for error and you will need to reverse in if you want to have easy access to the dock. Our pen was 9.6m wide, narrower than what we are used to and quite difficult to enter with a cross wind blowing. Peter managed to reverse us in safely.

Staffing: Office and maintenance staff are available onsite Monday – Friday during business hours, an emergency number is available for contact on weekends and public holidays. Marina staff are helpful assisting not just with marina queries, but the township, transport and the like.

Security: There are no dedicated onsite security staff. Pedestrian access to the marina is via a solitary gate which is activated by a fob. (Fobs can be collected from a key lock at the gate. We received the code via email on booking our berth).

Vehicle access is via the main gate located by the marina office. The same key fob works for this gate also.

Parking: There is no designated marina parking area in place; and what parking is available is unsecured.

Amenities: Separate and well maintained male and female shower/toilet facilities are located next to the marina office (like transportable Atco huts). Each one has one toilet, one shower, and a large toilet/shower combo to allow access for people with a disability.

Pump out: Not available.

Wifi:  Free wifi is not available at this marina.

Noise: There are a number of trawlers and smaller commercial fishing boats berthed at this marina. The engines of those across from us made a hell of a racket when they started and were warming up, usually at some ungodly hour of the morning.

Hard stand and haul out facilities: are available at this marina.

Fuel: a fuel dock is in place.

Shops/Chandlery: The Two Rocks Bar and Bistro sits up on a rise overlooking the marina and is only a short walk away. Similarly, an IGA supermarket, medical clinic, chemist, post office, hairdresser, op shop and liquor store. There is no chandlery nearby. The main supermarkets and other large chain stores are in Yanchep which is not accessible by foot. Your best bet is to take a bus (you will need cash or SmartRider card for fare purchase) or taxi. The bus interconnects with Butler railway station which we used to travel to Perth then out to the airport.

Overall we rated this marina 8/10.
